I had the privilege of being coached by TJ for two years, coaching with him for another two years, and even living with him and his family for 9 months. During that time he mentored me not just in football but in life and faith. I’ve always admired how intentional and purposeful he is in everything he does. Many claim to be about principals but TJ really lives them, and that has been an inspiration to me. To this day I will often think of his example as I coach and parent to my own kid. Meeting TJ was a huge turning point in my life. He made me a better player and coach, and more importantly, God used him to push me to be the man he created me to be.

If I could describe my relationship with Coach Ragan in one word, it would be belief. Every man needs a few men who believe in him during his formative years, those who tell him he is capable and then equip him with the tools to become so.

I met Coach Ragan when I was a fresh faced 18 year old kid fulfilling a dream of playing college football. Today, 11 years later, with a wife, a demanding career, and a baby on the way I still harken back to the lessons Coach imparted on me. He made me part of his family all those years ago and to this day I still come to him for advice, he always picks up the phone. Believe me, I’m not the only one, the Ragan household was and is a meeting place for all those who needed sage guidance or advice.
To summarize Coach Ragan’s life and experience is a highlight in an achievement and success on and off the field but doing that misses out on the man. In all my years of sports I’ve never had a coach more invested in players personal and spiritual growth. He is a second father, a spiritual leader, and a guide to the professional and husband I strive to be.

Coach Ragan is the type of man that men look back on and view as foundational to their lives. Coach is one of the most intentional and genuine men that I have had the pleasure of getting to know.
