HOW THESE PASSAGES SHAPE MY LEADERSHIP

Leadership Rooted in Scripture

The principles I teach through Foundational Strength are not simply based on experience in athletics or leadership environments.

They are rooted in Scripture.

Over time, these passages have shaped how I understand:

  • how to lead
  • how to live
  • how to develop others

They form the foundation of three key areas of my leadership system:

The Playbook (What Leaders Do)
Leadership DNA (Who Leaders Are)
Leadership Drivers (What Fuels Leaders)

1. The Playbook — What Leaders Do

Prepare • Train • Lead • Build • Finish

These habits are shaped by Scripture.

Prepare (Lead Yourself)

  • Deuteronomy — obedience and alignment with God
  • Psalms 1 — rooted life
  • 1 Timothy 4 — discipline

Leadership begins with personal responsibility before God.

Train (Develop Strength)

  • Proverbs — wisdom and discipline
  • Hebrews 12 — endurance
  • Galatians 5 — Spirit-led growth

Strength is developed over time through intentional growth.

Lead (Influence People)

  • Matthew 5–7 — leadership character
  • John 13 — servant leadership
  • Nehemiah — practical leadership under pressure

Leadership is influence rooted in service.

Build (Create Culture)

  • Joshua 24 — choose who you will serve
  • Acts — building communities of faith
  • Ephesians — unity and structure

Culture is built through consistent leadership and shared values.

Finish (Live with Purpose)

  • Acts 20:24 — finishing the race
  • 2 Timothy — endurance
  • Revelation — eternal perspective

Leadership is about finishing well, not just starting strong.

2. Leadership DNA — Who Leaders Are

The LEADERS DNA is shaped by Scripture.

Love

  • 1 John — love as the evidence of faith
  • Mark 12 — greatest commandment

Excellence

  • Colossians 3:23 — work unto the Lord
  • Ecclesiastes — meaningful effort

Accountability

  • Romans — responsibility before God
  • James — faith in action

Dedication

  • Daniel — conviction under pressure
  • Hebrews 11 — faith lived out

Expectations

  • Matthew 5 — high standard of living
  • 1 Peter — holiness

Relationships

  • John 15 — abiding and connection
  • Acts — community

Self-Sacrifice

  • Philippians 2 — humility of Christ
  • Mark 8 — deny yourself

3. Leadership Drivers — What Fuels Leaders

Intentionality • Passion • Purpose

These are not actions. They are internal drivers shaped by Scripture.

Intentionality

  • Deuteronomy — intentional obedience
  • Proverbs — wise decisions
  • Ephesians 5 — making the most of time

Leaders do not drift. They live on purpose.

Passion

  • Psalms — love for God
  • Isaiah 6 — “Here am I, send me”

Leadership flows from a heart fully committed to God.

Purpose

  • Matthew 28 — Great Commission
  • Acts — mission-driven living
  • Romans — transformed life

Leaders live for something greater than themselves.

Final Thought

Everything I teach is built on this foundation:

God’s Word shapes who we are, how we live, how we lead, and how we develop others.

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Ps. 119:105
